Charleston Hats was born about 10 years ago when I needed a hat for an event. Although I have always worn hats, I usually bought them impulsively when the price and mood were right. However, this event was special, and my budget wouldn’t stretch to cover the special hat I wanted. So, like any self-respecting creative genius, I got to work designing the hat of my dreams! The result was such a success that many people requested hats for themselves, and Charleston Hats was born!

Charleston Hats have an old-fashioned air that brings romance to life. I try to design hats that are enchanting and wearable. My hats have won prizes in Hat Contests and Art Shows and are perfect for those occasions when you want to look and feel beautiful.

Soon after I began, my demands exceeded my production and my mother offered her help. Her designs became so popular that she launched her own line, Happy Hats. Happy Hats are casual, grab-and-go hats that can be worn to the grocery store or to a tea party.

Every single hat we create is an original. The flowers used are each painstakingly hand-made and, like snowflakes, no two are alike. Our hats are as unique as the exciting, one-of-a-kind women who wear them.

Charleston Hats and Happy Hats fill the niche between far out (and often over-priced) couture creations and assembly-line discount store toppers. We offer individuality at a reasonable price and are proud to help women celebrate themselves.
